Move Anew … Healthy Feet Workshop, Saturday, April 18, 2020, 9:00 am - Noon

Council Chambers, Town Hall, 18 Centre St., Spencerville (use the door at the back of the building)
Chronic foot pain is pervasive in our culture, and can profoundly affect daily life and activities. Our feet are the only connection we have to the ground when we’re standing and walking, and plantar fasciitis, bunions, hammer/mallet toes, flat feet, corns and generalized achiness are common complaints.
Join guest presenter Kyla Haley, and get up close and personal with your feet! We’ll explore movement habits and stiffness patterns, discuss common foot ailments and explore ways to prevent and ease these conditions.
Learn:
· basic foot anatomy, and how to mobilize the bones and strengthen the muscles in your feet
· how foot issues likely result from mechanical input, that we can change with mindful movement and exercise
· biomechanics of how foot issues can also cause knee, hip, or back pain, and affect our balance
· simple movements and exercises to ease pain, that easily integrate into your daily routine
.· five criteria to use when shopping for shoes, and determine which criteria are most important for YOUR feet.
Kyla is a certified Restorative Exercise Specialist and founder of Move Anew, in Perth. She has trained with Katy Bowman, biomechanist and author of several books including “Simple Steps to Foot Pain Relief” and “Dynamic Aging”. www.moveanew.ca
Your investment: $50 by the Early Bird Deadline – April 1st; $60 thereafter until the deadline, April 15th. Payment may be made by cash, cheque or e-transfer to Sue Turner. Spaces are limited. Register here
Please wear stretchy pants that can be rolled up above your knees, bring water or tea, and Yoga Tune-up balls if you have them (if not, there will be some available). No need for yoga mats, props or blankets this time! Additional parking is available behind the United Church, next door.
